What the celebration is

The city’s page invites the whole community to mark the meaning of Diwali, a “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.” Photos from past years on the city’s page show performers on stage and food stands around the Boardwalk.

The city now lists the 2026 program: retail vendors, food and performances, and a drone and light show at 7 p.m. It has not named the performers or food vendors; we will add them here when it does.

Getting there and parking

The Boardwalk is the path around the ponds at Town Center, next to City Hall at 11360 Lakefield Drive. The city’s Diwali page does not list parking yet. For its other big Boardwalk events this year, the Independence Day Celebration and Trunk or Treat, the city sent drivers to these lots:

  • 11330 and 11340 Lakefield Drive
  • 11315 Johns Creek Parkway
  • 11465 Johns Creek Parkway

The city also runs a real-time parking lot dashboard for Town Center events. Check the Diwali page before you leave for any lot or road closure notice specific to Nov. 7.

Businesses and groups can apply to be a vendor or sponsor through the city’s Eventeny page.

  • A week later, on Nov. 14, the city’s Literary Fair brings bestselling authors to Johns Creek.
