Leash rules

At home, dogs must be kept in by a fence, wall or other enclosure, or on a leash or chain.
- In city parks: pets must be leashed except in designated areas, and owners must clean up after them, according to the city’s Recreation and Parks FAQ. City parks close from midnight to 6 a.m.
- Rabies shots and tags: dogs and cats over 4 months old must have a current rabies vaccination, under City Code Section 10-71.
