Newtown is the southwest corner of Johns Creek, where the city meets Roswell and Alpharetta, and, with Ocee, the part of the city closest to Georgia 400. Where it is

The comprehensive plan’s Newtown chapter describes the area as bounded on the east by Jones Bridge and Barnwell Roads; on the south by Holcomb Bridge Road and the City of Roswell; on the west by Nesbit Ferry Road and Roswell; and on the north by the City of Alpharetta. The city’s map layer puts it at about 2,832 acres.

The plan counts 13,606 residents in 2022. Most subdivisions were built in the 1980s and early 1990s; it names Rivermont, built from the late 1970s through the 2000s, along with Chartwell and Mayfair. It counts six shopping areas, along Old Alabama, Haynes Bridge, Jones Bridge and Holcomb Bridge Roads and at Old Alabama and Nesbit Ferry Roads, and notes that two had high vacancy rates. Fire Station 63 is here. There are no public schools inside the area; the plan lists two private schools at religious institutions, St. Brigid and Mt. Pisgah.

The plan proposes rezoning the shopping centers on Old Alabama Road at Haynes Bridge and Jones Bridge Roads, and the one on Holcomb Bridge Road, to low-intensity mixed use. Rezoning agendas are on the city’s meeting portal.

Of the area’s 5,543 address points in the school district’s map data, 98% are in ZIP code 30022 and 2% in 30076. Many mailing addresses read “Alpharetta” or “Roswell,” but the area is inside Johns Creek city limits, so the city provides police, fire and road services.
